Memories

I’ve tried to remember days like this

Happy go lucky

Famous to our friends

Just another gig down town

But try as I might

The hazy incandescent moment

Is but a flicker

Maybe for the best

For living in a sea of tears

Makes swimming into the future

Too painful for the need

To laugh at myself
