“I don’t know everything,” but even keeping an open mind I have learned understanding of language is a difficult prospect for both writers and readers. Just to add to the conversation for those of us who use metaphor to express our thoughts and feelings, I have found large disconnects between generations. Great post, trying to make facts and ideas understandable to others is the magic of the pen. Some of us have it, most of us never will.
