………AND TRY AS YOU MIGHT……….
…………….IT DOESN’T LIE…………….
Is my heart broken? No. Do I feel sympathy or empathy? No. Do I understand the denial and the lies? No. Do I understand reality? I try, but it’s becoming more complicated. Do I understand religion? No! Do I want to? No! Evangelical Nationalism? I’m not going to say it, but it rhymes with Pottsey!
The death of Joseph Aloisius Ratzinger, alias Pope Benedict, forced me to do some reading, but, when you read a strange story. do you ever read between the lines?
Let’s go back in time. There was this guy named Eugenio Maria Giuseppe Giovanni Pacelli, alias Pope Pius XII, who sat on top of the church from 1939 till his death in 1958. Shortly after Genio’s death a movement inside the church started the process of making this guy a saint, and that movement is still alive! During the Second World War the Vatican claimed neutrality, so as Hitler executed his final solution, Genio sat on his hands while he prayed, but he must have done it in a saintly way? Someone’s going to have to explain that one to me!
On second thought, I don’t really need or want an explanation. It would be like trying to explain moving child molesters from place to place to hide them and their crimes, only six million times worse! It’s just too hard to contemplate religious and political bad ideas that continues to this day. Religion and politics are a proven lethal combination!
That brings us to Joseph Aloisius Ratzinger, kind of appropriate ( Rat Zinger) wouldn’t you say? I have no idea who’s bad idea it was to put a dress on this guy, but, he became Pope Benedict. It didn’t last too long, but no one can deny that at the age of fourteen Joe became a member of the Hitler Youth! Ya! Go ahead and tell me what a great man he was, all the good things he did, and his rise to the highest position in the Catholic Church, but read between the lines, his retirement was a first, now his death is a first for the Vatican. Maybe instead of the pomp and circumstance and a massive waste of money, they should put his remains on a little cramped freight car and drop him off at Auschwitz.
