- Emma, Please don’t take this as advice, l have never been good at giving advice. Hospice is a kind of calling, many are called, but few are chosen. Death and dying bring all of us complicated thoughts and feelings to deal with. Over the years, some of the most incredible people l have met are Hospice workers. Workers is not the right way to describe them, maybe Angels? All of us are conflicted, so please don’t put yourself through this agony. This may not be for you right now. Talk to someone you trust, sometime down the road this may be something you want to get involved in. Nature is beautiful and cruel at the same time, so enjoy your life, if that includes helping others pass, go for it, but never put yourself down for being conflicted about death, just join the club.
