……ALMOST CUT MY HAIR……
To call David Crosby one of our beloved, larger than life superstars may not be giving the devil his due, but you have to admit, we lost an angelic voice. By the miracle of modern medicine he made eighty one, and a couple of albums on the side. I pictured an old 45 because the first time I heard David Crosby sing was on a 45. We were rapidly exiting the hootenanny phase and being replaced with the British Invasion. But the times were definitely changing!
The Byrds, The Doors, The Beach Boys, Jefferson Airplane, The Grateful Dead, Steppenwolf, CCR, and many others came out of America. Because of his beautiful voice David Crosby was in the middle of it all. His lyrics, voice, harmonies, and musical abilities carried him through his human frailties. I will miss him. But time is running short for the Classic Rockers! I’ll be first in line for tickets to the first nursing home tour.
RIP David, you did your part, no worries now where your next hit is coming from, and in a few years you can ask the man what Mr. Tambourine Man really meant!
