Again, semantics will play a role in the disinformation campaign of officials and elected representatives who will use the word, defund, as a political weapon to scare the American Idiot! Reallocating resources to deal with homelessness, mental health, addiction, child welfare, and other social and health issues would be better in the hands of trained professionals, not in the hands of the police department. Reallocating the limited funds, provided by the taxpayers, would allow the law enforcement officials to do the job they are payed to do, protect and serve. Defund, defunding, are terrible, potentially harmful verbs to describe the change that needs to happen.
