A Tramp on the Street

When I went through the series of photographs , I was taken back to 1968 when my sister turned me on to Rambling Jack Elliott. I was going to respond by writing the lyrics to A Tramp on the Street, but keeping it short and simple seemed appropriate. At that time, folk music was more than a thing, it expressed a mood and a hopeful look at the future that many of us bought into, and still do.Those photographs give all of us a lesson that we still have lots of work to do. I still include A Tramp on the Street when I get a chance to do a set, but if you want to hear the pro version / YouTube /Rambling Jack Elliott, A Tramp on the Street. Enjoy. D
